About OV-Tech

Ovidiu Taras, the owner/founder of the company has a University degree in mechanical engineering, with a specialty in machine building technology. For the first seven years after graduation he worked as a technical engineer/designer using computer aided design (CAD) programs, the last two were spent in woodworking design. After changing careers, he worked for more than two years as a service technician for a company that used to sell woodworking machinery in British Columbia.

OV-Tech was incorporated in January 2005, in British Columbia, Canada. It was started to fill a niche in the woodworking industry: service with the customer in mind.

More woodworking shop owners are buying specialized machinery to increase production. Operators have to keep up with this trend. The initial high cost is offset in a few months by the gain in productivity.

Another trend is increasing levels of computerization being integrated into these machines. Some are using complicated programming language while others are just using a structure with menus and sub menus.
